The University of Toronto’s Master of Health Science in Health Administration (MHSc) is designed to prepare future leaders capable of driving meaningful change within the healthcare sector. The program integrates business, management, and health policy principles to equip students with the skills needed to address complex and emerging challenges in health systems. Through an interdisciplinary curriculum, students build a strong foundation in health administration while developing leadership, strategic thinking, and change management capabilities essential for senior roles in healthcare organizations.

Learning is highly applied and interactive, with a strong emphasis on group problem-based learning that connects theory to real-world practice. Students engage in collaborative discussions, case studies, and applied projects led by faculty with professional expertise and supported by guest speakers in leadership positions. The modular format allows working professionals to complete the degree in two years without interrupting their careers, while a structured practicum provides hands-on leadership experience in a healthcare setting under executive mentorship. With placements tailored to individual goals across hospitals, community organizations, government agencies, and other health sectors, graduates leave prepared to lead innovation, improve systems, and advance healthcare outcomes.

Admission Requirements

  • Four-year undergraduate program, or its equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years relevant clinical or management experience (following undergraduate degree or training), preferably in the health or related sector.
