Master of Financial Insurance

The Master of Financial Insurance (MFI) program at the University of Toronto is a three-semester course designed to prepare students for careers at the intersection of Data Science, Insurance, and Mathematical Finance.

Admission Requirements

• Applicants must hold an undergraduate degree from a recognized institution.
• A background in a quantitative field such as actuarial science, statistics, economics, mathematics, or engineering is preferred.
• Applicants should have prior undergraduate training in multivariable calculus, linear algebra, probability, statistics, and computation.
• A solid foundation in courses like mathematics of investment and credit, financial principles, probability theory, applied regression analysis, and multivariate analysis is recommended, though not all are required.
