Students enrolled in the two-year Diploma in Veterinary Technology at Douglas College will learn how to become a valuable member of the veterinary medical team. Students get both theoretical and practical training in medical and surgical nursing, anesthesia, anatomy and physiology, radiography, dentistry, laboratory procedures, nutrition, pharmacology, workplace communications and more.

Students will get hands-on experience working with small and large animals on campus or at off-site facilities including veterinary clinics, stables, farms, and animal care centres.

Upon graduation, students are eligible to take the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE). Once graduates have passed the exam, they can register in Canada and in many parts of the United States as a Registered Veterinary Technologist.

Small class sizes with good ratios of students to teachers and so many ways to transfer to universities if you're so inclined. Programs are top-rate, and tuition is really cheap.

Both campuses are close together in a beautiful wilderness landscape. Loads of amenities like the stadium, gym and theatre, and transit is a piece of cake with a U-Pass.

This is a great school and I can't say enough good things about my experience here.
