3D Technologies for Film & Games

The animation, visual effects, and gaming industry is among the fastest-growing employment sectors worldwide. This intensive two-year diploma program is designed to equip students with the skills required to succeed in this dynamic field.

Over a 24-month period, students train using industry-standard software and hardware while receiving instruction and mentorship from experienced professionals and animation experts. The curriculum provides hands-on experience in areas such as character design, modelling, drawing, environment design, compositing, texturing, rigging, lighting, rendering, game design, level design, and storyboarding.

This comprehensive program prepares graduates for a variety of roles within the 3D animation, visual effects, and gaming industries. It is structured to accelerate career readiness by replicating the pace and demands of a real-world production studio. Upon completion, graduates receive a diploma from a respected public college in British Columbia, along with a professional portfolio and demo reel.

Students enrolled in the program are provided with a personal laptop equipped with industry-standard 3D animation software, including Autodesk 3ds Max, Autodesk Maya, Autodesk MotionBuilder, Autodesk Mudbox, Autodesk ReCap, Autodesk MatchMover, and Adobe Creative Cloud, among others. In addition, they receive an animation kit developed by the college, containing essential drawing materials. Together, these resources ensure students have everything needed to successfully complete the program and develop a high-quality portfolio.
