3D Animation for Game, Film & Visual Effects

The animation, visual effects and gaming industry is one of the fastest growing global job sectors. This two-year intensive diploma program equips students with the skills they need to thrive in this exciting field.

Over the course of 24 months, students work with industry-standard software and hardware under the instruction and mentorship of industry professionals and animation experts. Students will gain experience in character design, modelling, drawing, environment design, compositing, texturing, rigging, lighting, rendering, game design, level design, and storyboarding.

This in-depth program prepares graduates for a range of roles in the 3D animation, visual effects and gaming industry. This program will fast-track you into launching your career, simulating the intensity of working in a real-world production studio. Graduates will exit the program with a diploma from one of BC’s most respected public colleges and a professional portfolio and demo reel.

Upon joining the program, you’ll receive your own personal laptop, fully loaded with all of the industry 3D animation software, like Autodesk 3ds Max 2017, Autodesk Maya, Autodesk MotionBuilder, Autodesk Mudbox, Autodesk ReCap, Autodesk Matchmover, Adobe Creative Cloud, and much more. You will also receive an animation kit, designed by Langara College, with all of the drawing materials you will need to be as creative as you can imagine. Basically, you’ll get everything you will need to complete your studies and produce an amazing portfolio. Best of all, you get to keep your laptop, tablet, hard drive and animation kit after graduation!
