Construct an understanding of human behaviour that integrates both environmental and biological/cognitive influences by majoring in psychology at the University of British Columbia. Studying Psychology gives students a broad range of skills spanning science and the arts and prepares them for several exciting career options. Psychology graduates qualify for entry-level positions in fields as diverse as marketing, sales, government, journalism, advertising, healthcare, social work, and counselling.

Begin the program with PSYC 101 and PSYC 102, two of the most popular courses on campus, and an introduction to the discipline. In the second year, enroll in PSYC 217 and PSYC 218 by declaring a Major (specialization) at the Student Service Centre. In third year, students begin to specialize by selecting courses in a number of topic areas.

Some specialized courses available to undergraduates include Psychology of Sport, Cultural Psychology, Childhood & Adolescence, and Psychological Aspects of Human Sexuality. Many third- and fourth-year students also enroll in laboratory courses where they acquire first-hand experience in psychological research.

Gorgeous campus one of the most beautiful. Did my bachelors of business and computer science here and could not have gotten a better education than the price point - also generous with bursaries. Professors are mostly competent, fun, and very engaged with student learning. Stellar professors in Sauder and computer science faculty. If you are into Greek life, UBC Sororities is an encouraging and friendly environment to make friends during university, dorm / res life as well. Like any university though, can be somewhat biased towards more conservative ideas - not allowing certain speakers to come to campus or allowing unnecessary protests to continue at these discourses. I think it’s important for a reputable university to allow the free discussion of open ideas as there are many international students and Canadian students from various backgrounds.
