The Health Care Assistant program prepares students to become effective front-line caregivers and valued members of the health care team in both community and facility settings. Through a combination of classroom learning and hands-on clinical placements, students develop essential knowledge, practical skills, and professional attitudes required to provide high-quality care. The program focuses on building competence in personal care, understanding lifestyle factors, and supporting the overall well-being of clients and residents.

Emphasizing a person-centred approach, the program equips learners to advocate for the rights, needs, and dignity of individuals and their families while promoting physical, emotional, cognitive, and social well-being in diverse care environments.

I love this college. Every member of the staff that I met; was compassionate, kind, and helpful. Sudbury is a town with a lot of really caring people and that really shows in this college. Security Guards, Janitors, and Professors all seamlessly working together to deliver the best experience to their students. I’d love to see their medic labs one day. The campus is beautiful and the community is strong.

Vending machines are frequently finicky though, so best bet is to avoid cash and go for change or using the app. I’m pretty sure all of the ones in the Cafeteria are operational, but again avoid bills.

Best of luck with your studies!

Intimate campus, small class sizes and amazing teachers. Was cheaper than UVic. Hard not to love this place.
