In the Practical Nursing Program students will study from the same body of nursing knowledge as registered nurses (RNs) and registered psychiatric nurses (RPNs) with a more focused approach in foundational knowledge, critical thinking, and clinical judgment appropriate to the role of a practical nurse.

This program will provide learners with the knowledge, skills, judgment, and abilities to contribute in all phases of care from prevention to acute treatment and management, to long term and palliative care. The program will prepare students to care for individuals and families at multiple life stages in acute, complex, and community care settings.

Graduates of the program are eligible to write the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination (CPNRE) to apply for licensure to become a Licensed Practical Nurse in British Columbia.

I love this college. Every member of the staff that I met; was compassionate, kind, and helpful. Sudbury is a town with a lot of really caring people and that really shows in this college. Security Guards, Janitors, and Professors all seamlessly working together to deliver the best experience to their students. I’d love to see their medic labs one day. The campus is beautiful and the community is strong.

Vending machines are frequently finicky though, so best bet is to avoid cash and go for change or using the app. I’m pretty sure all of the ones in the Cafeteria are operational, but again avoid bills.

Best of luck with your studies!

Intimate campus, small class sizes and amazing teachers. Was cheaper than UVic. Hard not to love this place.
