Students at the University of Victoria’s Engineering program get a comprehensive education that will prepare them for the challenges of various engineering disciplines.
In a joint first year that allows learners to explore various fields before picking an engineering major, students will take part in hands-on learning experiences, including laboratory work, design projects, and cooperative education (co-op) opportunities.
In the second year, students will choose from biomedical, civil, computer, electrical, mechanical, or software engineering as a specialization, and then break out into more specific programming. The curriculum emphasizes the development of problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills, ensuring that graduates are well-equipped to address complex engineering challenges. Upon completion, graduates are eligible to pursue licensure as Professional Engineers (P.Eng.) in Canada.
