Toronto Academy of Acting for Film & Television’s Introduction to Voice Over course provides beginners with a practical foundation in voice acting for commercials, animation, and other genres. Over four weeks, students explore vocal health, microphone technique, script analysis, vocal placement, breathing, and relaxation exercises designed to support confident and effective vocal performances. The course creates a fun, educational environment where students can develop their skills while learning how to approach the voice-over audition process.
Offered both in studio and online, the course combines instruction with hands-on practice using a variety of commercial and animation scripts. Students learn how to work with a microphone and strengthen their vocal technique before completing a personal voice demo featuring a radio commercial and an animation scene.
A notebook, tablet, or mobile phone capable of recording and submitting digital files is required for the course.
