Healthcare Administration and Service Management

Sheridan College’s Healthcare Administration and Service Management program prepares students to lead and manage healthcare organizations within Canada’s evolving healthcare landscape. The applied program develops skills in leadership, operations, patient-centred service delivery, digital health technologies, and data-informed decision-making. Students explore Canadian healthcare systems, funding, regulations, policy, ethics, change management, and the ways identity and systemic inequalities can influence patient care and staff well-being.

The program combines lectures with interactive discussions, practical labs, clinical simulations, and real-world case studies to provide hands-on experience in complex healthcare environments. Students also complete a mandatory 392-hour field placement, working with an experienced healthcare leader on a specific project addressing a critical challenge. The two-year track includes an introductory semester focused on Canadian healthcare, while students also explore artificial intelligence, machine learning, cultural humility, and inclusive leadership.
