Canada Heavy Equipment College’s Tractor Trailer AZ M.E.L.T. program prepares students for careers in the commercial trucking and transportation industry. The Mandatory Entry-Level Training (MELT) program meets Ontario’s standardized training requirements for individuals pursuing a Class A commercial driver’s licence. Through classroom instruction and practical behind-the-wheel training, students develop the essential knowledge and skills needed to operate tractor-trailers safely and responsibly.
The program covers vehicle components and systems, basic driving techniques, professional driving habits, and off-road manoeuvres. Students also learn about vehicle inspections, regulatory documentation, hours-of-service compliance, cargo securement, loss prevention, and emergency handling. By combining practical experience with essential safety and regulatory knowledge, the program helps prepare graduates for the responsibilities of professional tractor-trailer driving.
