Combining hands-on instruction and theory, develop your skills and knowledge in structural steel design, fabrication, welding and metallurgy in preparation for a career as a welding specialist or quality control and inspection officer.

The Welding Engineering Technology program offers two years of hands-on education. The first year focuses on academic fundamentals and structural steel design and fabrication.

During the second year, you will learn pressure vessel design, construction and testing. You will design, build and test a pressure vessel as part of your final project. Practical welding skills are also developed to gain an in-depth understanding of welding processes.

Graduates may apply to the Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta for their Certified Engineering Technologist designation after two years of appropriate industrial experience.

Half-way through course, and still no resolution on 360 email. No one available to talk to, and contacts noted in email are never available. Was like this when I registered last year. You'd think I'd learn.

Absolutely horrible. I quickly realized high school upgrading classes are for people who recently took the class and wanted get better grades. It’s been 20 yrs since I was in school and was hoping to learn something but the teachers only wanted to talk soccer. I tried multiple times to get help from my teacher and was told to get a tutor. I paid a lot of money and took a lot of my time to take this course only to realize I’ve been duped. That the teacher in the class isn’t there to help but to fill a seat with a warm butt. I complained and tried to get my money back but it was too late they said. And being behind with a teacher who won’t teach or help…I dropped out and the experience stopped me from taking any education classes. I only wish when I called to sign up that sait wouldn’t lie to you but say “it’s only to refresh if you just took the course last term. Don’t expect to be taught anything but the latest soccer scores.”
