Health Services Management (MHSM)

The University of Lethbridge’s Master of Health Services Management (MHSM) is a collaborative program offered through the Dhillon School of Business and the Faculty of Health Sciences, designed to prepare working professionals for leadership roles in healthcare management. Delivered in a flexible part-time, cohort-based format at the Calgary campus, the program combines blended learning, distance education, and in-person sessions, allowing students to continue working while advancing their education. The curriculum focuses on developing strategic thinking, interdisciplinary collaboration, and advanced decision-making skills within the context of the Canadian healthcare system.

Students gain integrated knowledge across key areas of health services management, including healthcare design, financial structures, leadership, policy environments, and organizational strategy. Emphasis is placed on applied research, systems thinking, critical analysis, and effective teamwork, with learning outcomes that are transferable across healthcare settings and beyond. The program culminates in an integrated applied project where students diagnose real organizational challenges, develop practical solutions, and present their work at a scholarly level. Graduates leave prepared to lead interdisciplinary teams, navigate complex healthcare systems, and contribute meaningfully to organizational improvement and innovation.

Admission Requirements

• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, Health Sciences, or Management, or in a closely related discipline.
