Dalhousie University’s Master of Health Administration is a CAHME-accredited program designed to prepare transformative leaders who can strengthen healthcare systems and improve health outcomes for communities. The program welcomes students from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds, including healthcare practitioners and recent graduates, creating a collaborative learning environment enriched by diverse perspectives. Through a rigorous curriculum grounded in leading international health systems research and best practices, students develop the knowledge and skills needed to lead effectively in the evolving Canadian healthcare landscape.

The program combines academic excellence with applied leadership development through mentorship, experiential learning, and professional accreditation pathways. Students benefit from the ELEMENT Mentor Scheme, which pairs them with experienced healthcare leaders for guidance and career development, as well as a customized four-month residency placement that provides hands-on leadership experience within healthcare organizations. Aligned with Canada’s LEADS health leadership framework and meeting the requirements for the Certified Health Executive designation, the program equips graduates with advanced capabilities in healthcare management, innovation, and system transformation while offering flexible full-time and part-time study options.
