The Pharmacy Technician Training Program at Eastern College offers a supportive and engaging learning environment designed to prepare students for success in a fast-paced healthcare setting. With small class sizes and personalized instruction from experienced faculty, students benefit from meaningful one-on-one guidance throughout their studies. The program features a module-based curriculum that allows learners to focus on one subject at a time, promoting a deeper understanding of key concepts. Hands-on training takes place in a pharmacy lab designed to replicate a real community pharmacy, helping students confidently bridge the gap between theory and practical application while developing essential technical and professional skills.
Students can complete the program in just 54 weeks, including field placements arranged by a dedicated program coordinator, allowing them to gain real-world experience without the added stress of securing placements independently. Delivered in person at the Halifax campus, the program provides comprehensive training in areas such as pharmacology, pharmaceutical calculations, community and hospital pharmacy practice, and professional skills. Additional certifications in First Aid, CPR, and WHMIS further enhance workplace readiness. With a strong track record of graduate success—including alumni recognized as Pharmacy Technicians of the Year—students graduate well-prepared to pursue rewarding careers and contribute effectively in pharmacy settings.
