Extreme Professional Driver Training’s Class 1 Mandatory Entry-Level Training (MELT) program provides comprehensive instruction designed to prepare students for a successful career in commercial driving. Combining classroom theory, in-yard practice, and behind-the-wheel training, the program meets National Safety Code Standard 16 requirements while emphasizing safe driving practices for British Columbia’s unique road and mountain conditions.
Students gain hands-on experience in essential industry skills, including vehicle inspections, air brake procedures, cargo securement, hours of service compliance, chain-up techniques, and professional driving habits. Training also focuses on mastering manual transmissions, backing manoeuvres, coupling and uncoupling trailers, and safe highway and urban driving, ensuring graduates are fully prepared for their ICBC Class 1 road test and entry into the transportation industry.
Admission Requirements
- 19 years of age and valid Class 1 Learner’s License.
