Okanagan Valley Driving School’s Advanced Class 1 MELT Program is designed to provide aspiring commercial drivers with comprehensive, ICBC-approved training that builds both competence and confidence behind the wheel. Through a combination of classroom theory, in-yard instruction, off-road training, and extensive one-on-one driving lessons, students gain the foundational knowledge and practical experience required to begin a successful career in the trucking industry. The program is structured to support learners as they develop safe driving habits, professional skills, and a strong understanding of industry expectations.
This advanced program enhances standard MELT training by offering additional behind-the-wheel experience, allowing students more time to refine their skills and become fully comfortable operating commercial vehicles in a variety of conditions. With a total of 160 hours of instruction, including expanded one-on-one driving sessions, students benefit from increased practical exposure that strengthens their readiness for real-world employment. Graduates complete the program well prepared for their ICBC road test and equipped with the confidence and ability to pursue opportunities in the commercial transportation sector.
