Class 1 MELT Training

Okanagan Valley Driving School’s Class 1 MELT Training program is designed to prepare students for a successful career in commercial trucking through comprehensive, ICBC-approved instruction. Combining classroom theory, practical yard training, and personalized behind-the-wheel lessons, the program provides learners with the knowledge, confidence, and technical skills required to meet industry standards and obtain their Class 1 licence. Students benefit from a structured learning environment that emphasizes safety, professionalism, and real-world driving experience.

The program includes extensive training across multiple learning formats, including classroom education, in-yard exercises, off-road manoeuvres, pre-trip inspections, and one-on-one driving instruction. By blending theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice, students develop the competencies needed to operate commercial vehicles safely and effectively in a variety of driving conditions. Graduates leave the program well prepared for their ICBC road test and ready to pursue employment opportunities within the transportation industry.

Admission Requirements

• Must be 19 years of age.
• Must hold a Class 1 learners licence.
• Must meet ICBC driving record pre-screening requirements.
• Must meet ICBC vision and medical requirements.
