This two-term Ontario College Graduate Certificate will teach you technical and risk management skills that enable organizations to assess, develop, and enhance both preventative and responsive approaches to mitigating cyber-attacks. You will be taught how to take on mission critical roles guiding organizations to prevent and effectively respond to the latest range of online threats.
This program builds on the problem solving and fundamental technology skills you have developed in previous post-graduate computing and/or information technology studies, with a strong emphasis on both business and operational technical skills. This program has a one-term optional co-op placement.
What You’ll Learn
- Design and evaluate innovative cybersecurity strategies to provide secure solutions for organizational processes and applications.
- Create and document processes required for the maintenance and deployment of information controls solutions.
- Design and implement cybersecurity solutions and protocols to comply with current security policies, ethical standards, and industry regulations.
- Apply project management tools and techniques to manage the communication and resources invested in responding to an enterprise information security issue.
- Evaluate the reliability of information security controls through security audits to identify and address risks.
- Develop and deliver internal cybersecurity training to increase awareness and compliance with security policies.
- Explain an organization’s information security protocols, policies and audit results by various mechanisms including presentations and written reports tailored to educate the intended audience.
- Communicate professionally and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to meet organizational cybersecurity objectives.
- Analyze vulnerabilities in networks and integrated systems to identify and recommend potential solutions to security issues.
- Develop a plan for personal, career, and entrepreneurial growth to enhance work performance and maintain currency with the industry.
