The Collaborative Nurse Practitioner Program (CNPP) is a dynamic, online graduate-level program jointly offered by Saskatchewan Polytechnic and the University of Regina. Upon completion, graduates earn a Master of Nursing – Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of Regina, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and clinical judgment required to write the Canadian Nurse Practitioner Examination. Rooted in the philosophy and principles of Primary Health Care, the program aligns with the Canadian Nurses Association’s Advanced Nursing Practice: A National Framework (2008) and the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses’ Association Registered Nurse (Nurse Practitioner) Standards and Core Competencies (2011). The curriculum prepares students with the competencies necessary for initial registration as a Registered Nurse (Nurse Practitioner) across Canada, meeting the expectations of provincial regulatory bodies.
Delivered entirely online in an asynchronous format, the CNPP combines academic rigor with flexibility for working professionals. Students engage with a variety of learning tools including guided discussions, web conferencing, interactive activities, and digital course materials, supported by experienced faculty who are actively involved in advanced nursing practice and research. The program also incorporates extensive clinical practicum experiences, providing opportunities for students to apply their learning in real-world healthcare settings. While most placements occur in Saskatchewan and are arranged by the program, out-of-province students receive assistance in securing approved clinical sites. Through this innovative, collaborative approach, graduates emerge as highly competent, patient-centered Nurse Practitioners ready to advance primary healthcare delivery in diverse communities.

The experience in one of my office administration classes was awful, mostly because of how the instructor treated me. My attendance was wildly misrepresented, which got reported up the chain and made me look like I wasn't trying at all. Real-life respo...
