The American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine (AUC) offers a U.S.-modeled curriculum in a supportive, close-knit environment that prioritizes student success. AUC’s Doctor of Medicine program blends rigorous classroom study, simulation exercises, and community service, equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and values to succeed in healthcare. The program begins at technologically advanced campuses in Sint Maarten or Preston, United Kingdom.
In Years 1 and 2, students follow an integrated organ systems-based curriculum, connecting medical and clinical sciences from the start and preparing them for the USMLE Step 1. The focus is on developing hands-on skills and critical thinking for future careers as physicians. In Years 3 and 4, the Clinical Sciences curriculum provides students with hands-on patient care experiences, reinforcing clinical knowledge, diagnostic skills, and professional development. Students complete 80 weeks of clinical training at AUC’s affiliated sites in the United States and the United Kingdom during semesters 6 through 10.
