The Bachelor of Social Work at Laurentian University is a four-year Honours program designed to prepare students for meaningful careers dedicated to social change and community well-being. Accredited by the Canadian Association for Social Work Education (CASWE-ACFTS), the program emphasizes a holistic approach to practice that recognizes and advances human rights while addressing the diverse needs of individuals and communities. Through small class sizes and close collaboration with faculty and peers, students benefit from a supportive learning environment that fosters both academic and professional growth. Graduates are equipped to pursue registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, opening pathways to professional practice across a range of settings.

A key strength of the program is its strong focus on experiential learning, with students completing approximately 700 hours of field education in approved practice settings in Sudbury and beyond. The curriculum blends foundational and advanced courses covering areas such as social welfare, social policy, human service organizations, law, health, disability, and child welfare, alongside practical skill development in intervention, group work, and research. Students also explore specialized topics including Indigenous perspectives, addictions, and contemporary social issues, while developing strategies to promote equity and social justice. This combination of theory and hands-on experience prepares graduates to support individuals and communities while contributing to positive, lasting societal change.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing offered completely remotely offered in French and recognized in Quebec and Canada. The teachers in this program are very present and available to support the students. When you are admitted, write to the person responsible for schedules, tell them when you want to finish your bacc and how many courses per session and they will plan an action plan for you. Very easy to follow and plenty of space available in the classes, we don't have to log in at 11:59 p.m. to reserve our place in a class. I recommend !!!
