In this practical hands-on program, learners will acquire a broad range of tourism and hospitality knowledge coupled with industry specific competency training that will prepare graduates for a career in the competitive tourism and hospitality sector.
What You’ll Learn
- Develop strong interpersonal skills and presentation techniques.
- An understanding of the tourism and hospitality industry on a global scale.
- Hotel Front Office Operations and its key relationship to all hotel departments.
- The efficient handling of hotel reservations from check-in to check-out.
- Understanding and assessment of Food and Beverage procedures.
- Workplace health and safety including food preparation quality standards
- Financial statement basics plus hotel management accounting techniques
- Appropriate professional etiquette and cross-cultural understanding to deliver exemplary customer service.
- Effective Negotiation and Conflict management techniques.
Some roles you could consider pursuing after you finish the program include: Hotel front desk clerk, Guest services agent – hotel, Travel Councillor, Night clerk, Room clerk, Travel agent, Travel consultant, Food service agent/consultant, and Event and Meeting organizer.
Admission Requirements
- Good command of English language.
- High school diploma or equivalent from an approved government of applicant’s home country, or applicant is minimum 19 years of age.
- Students are required to bring their own computers to class.
English Language Requirements
Applicant must attain one of the following English language requirements:
- Successful completion of CCTB EAP (English for Academic Purposes) Level 3 or
- Have the required IELTS 5.0 score or equivalent or
- Pass the CCTB English Assessment (Written onsite or online with exam proctor).
