The Pharmacy Technician Diploma program at the Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology (MITT) equips students with the knowledge and hands-on skills needed to succeed in a variety of pharmacy settings, including community, hospital, and institutional environments. Developed by pharmacy experts, the curriculum reflects the current scope of practice for pharmacy technicians and incorporates emerging technologies and healthcare trends. The program emphasizes core competencies such as pharmaceutical calculations, drug distribution, sterile and non-sterile compounding, and pharmacy operations, ensuring that students are well-prepared for the evolving demands of the profession.

Accredited by the Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP), the program provides students with practical training in a fully equipped simulated pharmacy lab and includes a practicum placement for real-world experience. Graduates are prepared to meet national regulatory standards and are eligible to write the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (PEBC) Qualifying Exam. Upon successful completion, students will meet the requirements to become registered pharmacy technicians, ready to support pharmacists and contribute meaningfully to patient care across the healthcare system.
