Designed with the working professional in mind, the Career Advance MBA Pathway gives learners the freedom to learn from anywhere and at their own pace. The curriculum embraces student’s existing expertise and uses a balance of theory, analysis, and day-to-day practice to prepare learners to respond strategically to complex management issues and devise innovative, relevant, and real-world solutions to an organization’s challenges.

The Faculty of Management’s part-time blended online delivery model ensures that participants can complete their MBA degree without losing career momentum in as little as 2.5 or as many as 7 years. In each of the three academic terms, students choose from a list of wide-ranging courses balancing their learning needs with their lifestyle and professional responsibilities.

Students within this pathway develop a diverse set of fundamental business skills through our core curriculum. The Dalhousie edge is its blended online learning model which allows for the flexibility of online learning while providing the opportunity to develop rich personal connections with your classmates through face-to-face intensives. Students spend 3.5 days at the end of each term in locations such as Halifax, Toronto, Calgary, or Vancouver. Activities and goals of intensives can vary depending on the nature of the class and instructor. They may include lectures, presentations, simulations, group activities, individual assignments, and guest speakers.

Admission Requirements

  • Four-year bachelor’s degree and have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of B (or 3.0) or better in the final two years (or 60 credits hours).
  • Minimum of five years of professional experience post undergraduate degree.

The Dalhousie MBA was super helpful in leveling up my business skills. The program gave me solid knowledge on things like finance, marketing, and strategy, but it also kept things pretty practical. I was able to immediately apply what I was learning to my own company, which was a huge plus. The flexibility of the program worked well for me too — I didn’t have to hit pause on my business while studying. Plus, the connections I made through the program have been awesome for networking and getting advice. Overall, it’s a great mix of academic learning and hands-on application.

As an entrepreneur, Dalhousie University’s Rowe School of Business MBA program has been a game-changer for me. The program’s flexible format allowed me to balance my business commitments while gaining a deeper understanding of management, finance, and strategy. What I really appreciated was the focus on real-world applications — the case studies and group projects closely mirrored the challenges I face in my own business. The entrepreneurial mindset fostered by the program, coupled with access to a strong network of mentors and alumni, has given me invaluable tools to grow and scale my business. The mix of academic and practical knowledge made it an ideal fit for my entrepreneurial journey.
