Develop foundational skills, and learn best practices essential to the heating, refrigeration and air conditioning industry. Gain hands-on experience building, wiring, and troubleshooting a refrigeration system. The first semester prepares participants for provincial testing by the TSSA for Gas Technician 3 (G3) certification.
What You’ll Learn
- Adhere to personal and public safety guidelines indicated in applicable acts, standards, regulations, legislation, and codes.
- Use selected heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning tools and equipment safely and properly.
- Solve math and applied science problems relating to heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems and components.
- Prepare basic electrical, mechanical, and piping drawings.
- Install, service, and troubleshoot heating, refrigeration, air conditioning systems, and associated components.
- Incorporate strategies that will enhance work performance and career opportunities.
