Centennial College’s Aviation Technician – Aircraft Maintenance program provides students with an understanding of aircraft maintenance areas such as general aviation, business and corporate aviation, and charter and transport category aviation.

Working in modern labs and an impressive aircraft hangar, students learn hands-on by working on both fixed and rotary wing aircraft. Instructors will walk students through techniques as they work on components like airframes, engines, electrical and hydraulic systems, propellers, avionics equipment and aircraft instruments. Students also learn the essential theory and base of knowledge that will serve as a launching pad for growing their career.

Aviation Technician – Aircraft Maintenance is so robust it will also offer basic training required to obtain an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME – “M” rating). As a holder of an AME licence, students can be qualified to certify (or release) aircraft for flight after the completion of maintenance, inspection, repair or modification. The importance of that responsibility cannot be understated. To that end, this program will be comprehensive and will require students to be dedicated and focused throughout the learning process.

Graduates of the Aviation Technician – Aircraft Maintenance program may pursue a number of careers within the aviation industry working in a variety of roles with aircraft maintenance and manufacturing organizations, airlines, corporate/cargo/general aviation and flight training organizations as well as the Canadian Armed Forces and government.

Due to the technical nature of the curriculum students must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language at a level exceeding basic conversational English.

Additional ancillary fees for career services, health and counselling, athletics, student ID cards, and more may apply.

As a current student in Centennial College’s Early Childhood Education program, I’m loving the experience so far! The curriculum is really well-rounded, covering everything from child development to creating inclusive learning environments. The best part is the hands-on experience—we get to work with kids through placements, which is amazing for applying what we learn in class.
