Humber Polytechnic’s Baking and Pastry Arts Management program is an internationally recognized leader in pastry education, designed for students passionate about the creativity, precision, and science of baking. This two-year diploma program provides comprehensive, hands-on training in classic pastries, artisan and specialty breads, chocolate confections, sugar and chocolate showpieces, celebration cakes, and refined plated desserts. Through intensive practical labs, students build strong technical foundations while mastering advanced pastry techniques.
The program combines culinary excellence with business and entrepreneurial training, preparing graduates for leadership roles in the baking and pastry industry. Students develop skills in menu design, marketing, food safety, and sanitation, earning a nationally recognized certification. To support learning, students receive a full chef’s uniform and a professional pastry kit equipped with high-quality tools, ensuring they are industry-ready from day one.
Beyond the kitchen, the curriculum includes writing proficiency, general arts and science courses, and classes that strengthen communication and critical thinking skills. Students gain real-world experience through work-integrated learning or study abroad opportunities, expanding professional networks and enhancing career readiness. Graduates may also fast-track their education by completing Humber’s Culinary Management program in one additional year, earning two diplomas in three years and further expanding their career pathways.
