The Master of Management Analytics marries training in core data analytics concepts and tools, with outstanding education in business strategy and management. It includes extensive review of the fundamental mathematical and statistical theories and methods that underlie modern analytics, but with a practitioner focus.

Earn the MMA while working in this 12-month program of evening and weekend classes held at SmithToronto, our dedicated learning facility in downtown Toronto. Plus, two residential sessions are held at Smith School of Business’ main campus at Queen’s University in Kingston.

What You’ll Learn

Students will be exposed to a variety of tools and programming languages throughout the Smith MMA program including SAS, R, Python, Tableau, Hadoop, and Spark. Students are encouraged to participate in optional training in which they will be introduced to these tools. These sessions will take place outside of the regular class schedule.

MMA students will have access to DataCamp, an interactive learning platform for data science. Learn R & Python from the comfort of your browser with over 75+ courses featuring high-quality video, in-browser coding and gamification.

Professional Designations

You may be eligible to apply some of the MMA work against the following designations.  Request a course package to learn more.

  • Certified Analytics Professional
  • Project Management designation

Queen’s is consistently ranked among the best in the world. You can find average salaries and graduation rates on CourseCompare and on Smith’s website. The numbers speak for themselves.

But the best things about Queen’s are the people, the community and the networks. You will probably have fun here while meeting the future CEO of a tech startup or leader in finance and consulting. QC doesn’t set up internships for you and you will have to find one on your own, but recruiters are always on campus and profs are in your court and available to help you. There are also 40+ clubs to join where you can meet amazing people. There are regular conferences happening that attract first-rate speakers, and the exchange program is amazing and not one to be missed.

Queen’s and Ivey at Western are both excellent, but I chose Queen’s because it’s a 4-year program. Ivey begins in year three and I didn’t want to have to compete to get in and then make friends halfway through my undergrad experience.

To summarize, Queen’s is where future business leaders are being taught. The community is second-to-none and the career results speak for themselves.

The program gave me an edge in my day-to-day business dealings and ultimately boosted my confidence to take my family business to the next level. I loved the videoconference technology. It felt as if you were right there in the front row of the class, and the professor– student interaction was wonderful. This program is not for the faint of heart, but I couldn’t imagine where I would be today without it.
