Students will develop the critical thinking and team building skills necessary for effective communication in a globally based business setting. UCW’s Bachelor of Commerce is delivered through four tiers that progressively develop knowledge, critical thinking ability and operational skills. Once students have built up their skill set, they will be ready for the Capstone courses that bring together everything learned into real-world projects, helping to launch their career.

The Bachelor of Commerce program prepares students for a successful career where they will contribute constructively to a global economy. The Bachelor of Commerce program focus is found in a sequence of business courses. At the same time, it integrates communications courses to create an interdisciplinary degree that provides a sound background for work that includes the development and management of organizations. Team activities are an intrinsic part of many courses and build team skills vital for real-world success, as well as providing a collegial learning environment.

Graduates of the BCom program will:

  • Have a comprehensive understanding of contemporary business practices across all areas of business management.
  • Know how to conduct business in a multicultural environment, spanning international borders and working cross-culturally.
  • Have the ability to use interdisciplinary approaches to solve problems and create new business opportunities.
  • Be able to use critical thinking to analyze and interpret information to make informed decisions.

UCW follows professional trends in industry closely and develops elective areas that reflect the best professional standards in specific fields. Currently, they offer the following elective areas in the BCom degree:

  • Accounting: Accounting skills are consistently in demand. The accounting elective area, in combination with the rest of the BCom degree, will prepare you for entry into a professional accounting program.

A good challenging university that is international. I finished in 2019 and had a job offer from a big telecom company in my last semester, second year. Very happy with the outcome and the business training.

If you have a minimum of self-love stay as FAR AWAY as possible from this institution. Worst university ever! Their administration is terrible and their refund policy is absurd! You must pay your tuition on each term's first day or you will receive trully menacing emails. However, when you apply for a tuition refund, they tell you the process takes 30 BUSINESS DAYS to pay you back the money which is rightfully yours! It makes absolutely no sense! They say the refund takes so long due to international money transfer and whatever but it's a LIE! I live in Canada and my bank account is Canadian! They just DON'T CARE about their students! Worst education experience ever!
There's other options of great institutions in Vancouver that are actually organized, well administrated and will treat their students with respect - that will not be the case at UCW!
