Students will learn the key areas of various industries including power generations, forestry, mining, construction, and healthcare, as they are taught by industry experts who understand current occupational health and safety legislation and issues. In this two year program, students will be able to identify, assess, and manage risks and hazards that may occur in a variety of workplaces.
Learners will also train in areas of workplace wellness and human resources, and will complete a mandatory seven week placement in the fifth semester.
Some courses will be delivered remotely in a partnership with Lambton and Seneca Colleges.
Admission Requirements
- Any grade 12 English, college or university.
- Any grade 11 math, college or university.
- Any grade 11 or 12 chemistry or biology.
What You’ll Learn
- Methods of training and organizational development to create an organizational training plan.
- Basic human anatomy and physiology.
- Techniques for hazard management, recognition, evaluation, and control.
