This eight-month graduate certificate program is designed to provide you with leadership skills to support the global hospitality service economy. You will be able to respond to the shift in global economic and business management practices from product to service. An emphasis is placed on recognizing new opportunities and developing new service categories and market segments while supporting the implementation of organizational change.

This program will develop your skills in leadership and innovative service models, digital management, predictive analytics, and measurements, as well as live-data service with an intimate view of customer knowledge for the hospitality industry.

Fieldwork is an integral element of your program that provides you with an opportunity to provide a real client with a business recommendation for their business in the hospitality industry. You will benefit from 150 hours in a professional setting. This component is critical to your success and a requirement to graduate.

What You’ll Learn

  • Support the continuous improvement of service systems and processes by considering the impact of economic, political, social, global, and intercultural factors to inform the development of service strategies, knowledge of consumer behaviour, and loyalty programs.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative metrics to recommend service models in a global context.
  • Make financial decisions in compliance with jurisdictional practices to report financial implications to various stakeholder groups.
  • Recommend service strategies to maintain efficient, safe, secure, accessible, and healthy hospitality and tourism operations that reduce risk and comply with jurisdictional legislation and legal obligations.
  • Support the strategic development of hospitality service initiatives through the implementation of corporate sustainability, corporate social responsibility, and ethics principles.
  • Evaluate an existing hospitality service model to generate recommendations to support the strategic growth of the organization’s business objectives.

I'm happy to have taken Acting for Camera and Voice at Seneca@York. That's where I got my intro to the industry, I got a chance to work on scenes and get in front of the camera for the first time. I made some really great friends and had some opportunities to collaborate on projects with students in other programs who were doing Radio or Film Production. I don't think this is the most well known acting program in Toronto by any means, but it worked for me, and 7 years or so after graduating I'm still acting and thankful for the experience.

Seneca College

An excellent program for those who want to try a wide variety of performance media.

Before applying to this program, I considered myself a theater kid only. Seneca's ACV program got me interested in performance for audio and camera formats, and also gave me the skills to create my own demo reel and even basic film industry knowledge (on-set etiquette, crew roles, scriptwriting etc. ) The highlight of my time there was getting to see my instructors and classmates bring to life a script I'd written for our Screenwriting class. For those just coming out of high-school, this is the perfect program to dip your toes into a wide variety of performance media.
